I have been running, on and off, for 5 years now (thereabouts). Before that time, I never ran in my life. Sure, starting at 48 is better than never.
I used to be able to run a 5K in a time just under 26 minutes. I worked my way up to that time. However, in the past year, my average time seems to be closer to just a tick over 28 minutes.
So, what’s the story with those added two minutes? The difference between 48 and 53? Is it the extra 15 pounds or so that I am carrying? A combination of both? Well, I can’t get any younger. That means there’s only one way to find out.
