The night of my last run, July 7th, I got injured. It ended up becoming a staph infection in my left shin. It was so bad, and my doctors botched the Rx so terribly, that it took me 6 weeks to get over it. And, that’s the main reason why I had 54 days in between my run today and my last time out.
Needless to say, today was terrible. I hit the 1.45 mile mark and had to do the alternating walk/jog from there – and it was mostly walking.
I’m gained too much weight – which is no one’s fault but my own. My eating habits have become beyond hideous. But, today, I draw the line. In fact, I am having a home-made fruit smoothie as I type this post – apple, banana, strawberries and spinach.
And, it’s going to be a long time before I eat a burger and fries again. (I’ve had more bacon cheeseburgers in the last few weeks than I have eaten in the last few years!)
My total time for the “run” was 33 minutes and 13 seconds. No way it should be more than 30 minutes – ever! My immediate goal is to run a 5K in less than a half hour.
