I went for a 5K run this morning before starting my long workday from home. (I’m on call, in meetings, from 9 AM to 4 PM today.)
I felt strong, more so than before, lately, at the start. I really thought I could go at least 2 miles without stopping. But, I hit the wall at the 1.67 mile mark. From there, I did the alternating walk/jog the way home – and, I finished with a kick (which is better than not doing that). All told, I covered the 3.1 miles in 29 minutes and 7 seconds. Considering it’s been something like 6 weeks since I could cover a 5K in less than a half-hour, that’s something.
This is workout #46 for 2013.
