Workout – 12/18/12

Despite my legs being very sore today, I went for a run at 5:12 PM after my workday from home.  And, the plan was to run 5 miles.  (I even mapped out a route before I left my house.)  But, I ended up with another one of those run-break-run things again.  Here’s what I did tonight:

  • Ran 3.8 miles in 25 minutes and 45 seconds.  That’s a 8:21 pace – and that’s kind of slow for me.  (But, again, my legs are very sore.)
  • Then, I walked for two minutes to catch my breath.
  • Next, I ran for .35 miles in 3 minutes.  That’s a 8:33 pace. Sort of slow, once more.
  • Then, I walked for two minutes to catch my breath.
  • Next, I ran for .53 miles in 4 minutes and 20 seconds.  That’s a 8:12 pace – which is great for me, all things considered. (Credit to the AC/DC song on my MP3 player?)
  • Then, I walked for one minute to catch my breath.
  • Lastly, I ran for .30 miles in 2 minutes and 33 seconds – which is back to a slow, 8:26 pace.

When you add it all up, I ran for 4.98 miles – with three walking breaks in there.  (Hey, that’s almost my five miles!)  However, the same as the last time this happened, I just wish there was a way for me to get control of myself out there where I didn’t need the breaks.
